Welcome to Paranormal America, a paranormal travelogue!
Over the years my friends and I have often talked about taking trips across the U.S. visiting the most haunted places we could find. A ghost trek, so to speak, exploring the places where many fear to tread.
The problem comes in trying to narrow down the places we want to visit. Every state has its stories, but if we could only visit one in each state, which should it be?
Well, if you’ve been thinking about just such a trip, you’ve come to the right place! Join us as we highlight the most talked about location for paranormal activity and investigation in each of the fifty states.
Who knows? There might even be a location in your own state that you haven’t heard about.
The old iron works of Sloss Furnaces has been a center of paranormal activity for over 100 years in Alabama.
It seems that at one time, a cruel, sadistic man named James “Slag” Wormwood was once the overnight foreman at the factory, or so the story goes. He pushed the men who worked for him so hard and cut so many corners that 47 men died on his watch in the time that he worked there.
Slag, himself, eventually died in the factory when he fell into a vat of white hot melted iron ore, and it was after his death that Sloss began to turn up on the Paranormal Map.
Workers have reported a badly burned man who appears from nowhere, yelling at them to get back to work. Others have reported being shoved by unseen hands. And in on case, three supervisors were found locked in a boiler room and unconscious. All three later reported seeing the burned man before their mysterious disappearance.
Alaska–Dimond Center Mall
While excavating the site to build the Dimond Center Mall in Anchorage, workers unearthed what appeared to be a small native burial site. Because of its small size, the crews decided to continue excavation and the mall was erected directly on top of the ancient sacred site.
Since its opening, patrons and staff at the mall have reported seeing spirits dressed in traditional native clothing throughout the building. Also, and it seems to only happen when patrons are alone, but these same spirits seem to jump out at people in the restrooms and small side hallways of the mall causing quite a bit of terror for the unsuspecting.
But the most disturbing of all is one entity who appears all in shadow. He has been know to hiss in people’s ears and pull their hair or pinch them while they are shopping.
