Cryptids are a collection of creatures studied in the field of cryptozoology, an area of study focused on creatures whose existence have not or cannot be fully proven.
Some of these creatures are quite famous and we all know their names. Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, chupacabra, and the Jersey Devil come immediately to mind. These are only a small portion of the many cryptids known around the world, however.
Let’s take a look at some of their lesser known brethren!
The Beast of Dean
This legendary creature is native to the Forest of Dean in England. It resembles a wild boar, but it is large enough to knock down large trees and fence. It’s size earned it the nickname “Moose-Pig”.
Resembling a large elk with 12-point antlers, the Ghost Deer seems to reside in Northern California. Many a hunter has tried to take down the animal, but their bullets pass right through the animal. He also has the ability to disappear at will with his tracks suddenly disappearing while being tracked.
